Lakes football season ends in loss at North Dickinson
Despite scoring 12 points in the first half, the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes fell in their 8-player Division 2 regional final against the North Dickinson Nordics, 32-12, Saturday.
The Lakes trailed 8-6 after one quarter and 16-12 at half. The Nordics struck for 16 points in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.
Brady Axford was good through the air for the Lakes, going 8-for-17 for 86 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. He also rushed the ball 20 times for 31 yards, and even made a catch for 79 yards and a touchdown.
Josh Daavettila threw the touchdown pass, going 1-for-1 through the air for 79 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed 18 times for 124 yards.
Tyler Axford caught the other touchdown pass as part of a five-catch, 54-yard day.
With the win, the Nordics advance to face Onekama.
