Tennis tournament celebrates 79th year

ESCANABA — The 79th Annual Michigan-Wisconsin Open tennis tournament is taking place here Aug. 1-2. Singles matches will be played Saturday, Aug. 1, with doubles taking place Sunday. Entry fee is $25 for singles and $15 apiece for doubles. Entries for those wishing to receive a T-shirt must be received by Tuesday, July 28. FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Jason Robertson and the Dallas Stars will avoid a salary arbitration hearing after the high-scoring forward signed a $12 million contract for next season.
