Editor: "The Quincy, Franklin, Hancock Township Fire Department would like to thank all who patronized our Chicken BBQ fundraiser on June 8. It was fun and a huge success! A special thanks for the support of sponsors as well: McGann Building Supply, Vollwerth & Co., and Campioni Markets. We certainly appreciate the public service messages provided by the “WOLF” and “WMPL” radio stations, WLUC-TV and Dave’s BP. The 50/50 winner was Ron Schmidt. Omega House would like to extend a thank you to everyone who made this year’s ATV Ride for Omega House the largest and most successful to date. With nearly 190 registered riders hitting the trails in support of our mission, we are overwhelmed with the generosity and community spirit that continues to surround this event year after year. Over 48 dedicated and community-minded health care professionals donated their time, expertise, and talents to ensure that 209 CLK and 29 Lake Linden-Hubbell students received a quality sports physical. To the editor: In Michigan, 19 percent of Medicaid enrollees are older adults and individuals with disabilities. For those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD), Medicaid is not just a safety net, but a vital source of access to essential long term care services. However, Congress is considering a budget framework that includes substantial reductions to Medicaid funding.
