Dear Editor: Hancock has a real jewel in the Hancock School Public Library, and the city, school and residents must come together to keep it thriving. I usually roll my eyes at the expression “safe place,” but that is exactly what this library is — a joyous, welcoming place where students seem happy and respected. It’s remarkable to see them all cheerfully jammed in during their lunch periods.
