September 5

• L’Anse Blood Drive, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. L’Anse United Methodist Church, 304 Bendry St. The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at the L’Anse Methodist Church. Walk-ins are welcome.

• Lake Linden Farmers Market, 3 – 6 p.m. Lake Linden Park.

September 6

• Free Computer and Technology Assistance 10 a.m. – noon, Portage Lake District Library. Do you need help with your digital device? Are you facing tablet troubles? Windows worries? Mac mysteries? Smartphone snafus? Do you want to learn more about what you can do with digital technology? The BASIC (Building Adult Skills in Computing) team from Michigan Tech will be at the Portage Lake District Library in Houghton to help you! There is no cost and no registration required — just drop in and one of our friendly, knowledgeable volunteers will work one-on-one with you. The BASIC program will be at the library the first Saturday of each month through December (September 6, October 4, November 1, December 6). We look forward to seing you at one or more of our sessions!

• Calumet Farmers Market, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Agassiz Park.

• Angel Mission re-sale bazaar, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Salvation Army building, 408 Ravine St. Hancock. Re-Sale Bazaar to benefit the Copper Country Angel Mission will be held at The Salvation Army Bread of Life Center in Hancock. A wide array of items will be available.

• Alston Tractor Races. 10:30 a.m. Alston Ball Field, M-38 Alston. The 10th Annual Alston Tractor Races will be held on Hoover Road, next to the ball field in Alston. Time trials for fast and slow races for antique gas and diesel tractors will begin at 10:30 a.m.. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers. The entry fee is $25. The public is invited to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the show. Concessions will be available by donation. Call Bob at 906-281-6638 of you have questions.

• The South Range Eagles Club hosts dances with live music — polka, coiuntry, swing, jazz — from 2 – 5 p.m. on Sundays. All are welcome. For more information call 906-523- 5096

• Blood Driver, 2 – 5 p.m., Ontonagon Eagles Hall. The U.P. Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive at the Ontonagon Eagles Hall. To learn more or to make an appointment, contact the UPRBC at 906-449-1450. Walk-ins are welcome.

• Houghton Farmers Market, 3-6 p.m. Houghton Downtown Pier.

• Mohawk Park Concert, 6-8 p.m., Mohawk Park.Tonight’s music will be provided by Yesterady’s Wine.
