A car crash in Baraga township resulted in a fatality on Wednesday morning at about 7:30 a.m.

According to the Baraga County Sheriff, 21-year-old Kori Beth LaFernier of L’Anse was killed while driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee on Mission Road south of U.S. 41. The accident remains under investigation.

Michigan State Police, Baraga Village Police, Keweenaw Bay Tribal Police, L’Anse Fire Department, Baraga Fire Department and Bay Ambulance assisted at the scene of the accident.
