The parade began at Koppers, on M-26 just north of Hubbell at 10:30 a.m., and traveled to the south end of Tamarack City. Families and kids of all ages lined the street along the procession, which lasted 45 minutes, which included lots of candy being tossed to the side of the streets for anxious kids to collect.

At noon concessions opened for the Holiday Community Lunch at the Hubbell Fire Hall, with lunch served by the Hubbell Volunteer Fire Department.

At 1 p.m. the Family Sports program began a series of family-focused races, along with community games and activities at the Hubbell Boat Launch.

Dollar Bay, five miles away, timed its parade to start at Noon to allow many of the trucks and floats in the Hubbell parade to line up for the neighboring village’s parade. The Dollar Bay Fire Department served its traditional fundraiser barbecue dinner, and at 1 p.m. Pioneer Park was the scene of children’s races, community activities.

The area’s fireworks, always a popular attraction, took place in Lake Linden on Friday night.
