UP Michigan Works hosts first virtual job fair

On July 21 from 1 to 4 p.m., Upper Peninsula Michigan Works! (UPMW) will be hosting its first-ever virtual job fair. Using software provided by the State of Michigan for use by Michigan Works! organizations around the state, UPMW will provide Upper Peninsula job seekers and employers with a networking opportunity while maintaining proper social distancing and ensuring public health and safety are protected.

This event is open to all Upper Peninsula job seekers, regardless of age, experience, or economic status, and it is free of charge. Talented job seekers who are interested in this event are invited to pre-register by using this link: https://tinyurl.com/UPVirtualJobFair. A UPMW staff member will reach out to the pre-registrant before the event to provide more information, including explaining how the event works, how to prepare, and how to ace the interview.

Employers interested in participating in a virtual job fair are invited to contact an Employer Specialist. Contact information can be found at upmichiganwork.org. This first virtual job fair, being held July 21, is an invitation-only event regarding employers, but there will be events in the future that will be open to additional employers who wish to utilize our services.

In addition to the virtual job fair, UPMW offers services to job seekers including interview preparation, resume-building assistance, interest inventories, and more. Please visit upmichiganworks.org for information about these services in preparation for the upcoming job fair.
