Local scouting council invites the public to join them on a camp-in on Apr. 1.
MARQUETTE — When people think of Scouting, they think of a camp-out. As the states of Michigan and Wisconsin shelter in place, the Bay-Lakes Council is pleased to invite the general public to join Scouts and families from across the Upper Peninsula and Northeast Wisconsin for a Camp-In, instead. Taking part is a simple three step process.
1. Log onto www.baylakesbsa.org/scouting-at-home/ to check out the details.
2. On Wednesday, Apr. 1, build your very best blanket tent at home and tune into https://www.facebook.com/events/2824905100879675/ for a 30 minute Campfire Program scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern/6:30 p.m. Central time.
3. Enjoy camping out in your living room with your immediate family on the evening of Apr. 1. It’s April Fools Day anyway. Feel free to make a night of it: hot dogs, or Dutch Oven cooking, s’mores, watch Follow Me Boys on Amazon Video, or even take part in advance with our Best Campfire Skit, Song, and Story Contest.
While checking out the Camp-In details, the public is encouraged to take advantage of an ever increasing amount of at home activities and program opportunities for youth and families on www.baylakesbsa.org/scouting-at-home/. Those utilizing the website resources need not be registered in the Bay-Lakes Council, or Boy Scouts of America.
