According to a recent press release from the Upper Michigan Water Company, many customers in Calumet, Laurium and areas near Mohawk are reporting cloudy water. UMWC explained the cloudy water is a result of a leak that brought air into the water system. The company claims they’ve located the leak and are currently flushing hydrants to release the air and fix the issue. The water company says the issue is isolated. Thanks to a partnership with the West End Health Foundation, Copper Shores’ Outreach and Education department will be offering an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Tuesday and Wednesday. The training will take place at the Great Lakes Recovery Center in Negaunee, Michigan. The workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.
