PLAINWELL — The Michigan Career and Technical Institute (MCTI) graduated 207 students during their 2020-2021 school year. The school hosted a student recognition/graduation ceremony at its campus in Plainwell on Aug. 31 to honor 64 graduating students from the summer school term.

MCTI delivers in-demand training programs that provide Michiganders with disabilities the credentials they need to access competitive integrated employment and enhance independence.

Students may enroll in one of MCTI’s 13 technical training programs, including automotive technology, cabinet making/millwork, certified nurse assistant, commercial printing, construction, culinary arts, custodial, grounds maintenance/landscaping, industrial electronics, information technology, machine technology, pharmacy technician and retail marketing.

MCTI is a division of Michigan Rehabilitation Services within the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity. Their programs support Governor Whitmer’s Sixty by 30 goal, offering the opportunity to earn a degree or credential and boosting the percentage of working-age adults with a degree or certificate to 60% by the year 2030.
