Caveat emptor

To the editor:

The 18th Amendment was ratified on 1/16/1919 and after nearly 15 years of crime, murder, havoc and a tremendous government expense of enforcement; the prohibition of alcohol was repealed on 12/5/1933. The prohibition movement was started by people that felt alcohol was ruining the country. Of course drinking continued during this period. Check out bathtub gin, bootlegging, moonshiners, and smuggling from Canada.

Many single item voters focus solely on abortion and those politicians who say they will stop the practice. They don’t care that other areas of concern in the country are forsaken or torn apart. The end does not justify the means.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned, I can assure you that abortions will continue as they have been in some form or another since the dawn of the ages. Men are just as culpable, if not more so, for pregnancies. Some rape, incest, sweet talk, or show uncontrolled urges and then dodge responsibilities.

A baby should be conceived in love. A sure fire way to reduce abortions is to have certain men get vasectomies.

Recently someone wrote here that the word “race” isn’t in the Bible. Although true (in my KJV Bible), other words are not there either. The following words were put into the English language much later. Incest (1200’s), rape (1300’s), abortion (1537), impeachment (1569), as well as 10,000’s of others. These arrive in the course of normal human events and need. Even my few examples are of no lessor importance to mankind than those found in scripture.

Please remember when I tell you that Trump’s motives for re-election have little to no concern about this country despite his lies to the contrary. He is under investigation currently for numerous crimes in the city and state of New York, including real estate fraud, bank fraud, state tax fraud, as well as a civil lawsuit for rape. He is also being looked at for a federal crime of election fraud from paying off a porn actress prior to his first election.

Naturally, he will say or do anything to stay in office. God save our great land if he does.
