From a concerned Student Editor: For the past week, I have followed the news relating to Benjamin Walby's death and the impending lawsuit against Houghton and Handcock. I have watched news outlets read article after article. The excessive use of force is obvious in the bodycam video; you can see law enforcement tasing him as he is handcuffed and lying face down on the ground. In total, Benjamin was hogtied and tased 17 times. It leaves me wondering where all the empathy, care, and understanding have gone in this world. Tyranny Editor: We are seeing the consequences of a lawless federal government play out before our eyes. An attack on Venezuela, which turns out to be not “regime change”, but only dictator change, has been revealed to be a clumsy effort to benefit multinational oil companies, not Venezuelan (or US) citizens. The long-term strategy for this operation seems even more vague than were the plans for invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Greenland Editor: How is it possible that a President of the United States would threaten to invade a NATO ally? In this case —Greenland, which is part of Denmark. This would destroy NATO, the strongest defense we have against Russia and other enemy countries. Congress needs to strongly admonish this type of rhetoric from any official of our government and affirm that we respect and honor the boundaries of other nations.
