ASHLAND, Wis. — Three players scored in double-figures as the Finlandia University women’s basketball team (2-5) lost 78-74 to Northland (1-4), Tuesday night at the Kendrigan Gymnasium. The first period saw Finlandia and Northland battle on even terms. The Lions took a 13-12 lead after one period. In the second period, Senior Martina Jahfetson dropped in a 3-pointer from across the Great Lakes.  That closed a 15-8 run and put FinnU up 28-20 at the 5:27 mark. Finlandia clashes with Spartans

AURORA, Ill. — The Finlandia University men’s basketball team (2-5) lost 82-64 to Aurora (4-2), Saturday afternoon at Norse Gym. The game was tight the first four minutes.  Junior Danny Zuchak hit a lay-up that cut the gap to four, 10-6 at the 17:08 mark.  Aurora scored 12 straight points to effectively end the game. For Finlandia, junior Ilrick Higgins-Moise scored 14 points, sophomore Devin Schieble scored 13 points with three triples and Zuchak had 12 points and three steals. RIVER FALLS, Wis. — Three players scored in double figures as the Finlandia University men’s basketball team (2-4) lost 78-69 to Wisconsin-River Falls (3-2), Wednesday night at Don Page Arena. The first 12 minutes of the game was a tight contest. Junior Ilrick Higgins-Moise knocked one in from downtown. That closed the gap to 22-16 at the 8:44 mark.  UW-River Falls scored 11 straight points and led in double digits the last eight minutes.  The Lions scored the first eight points of the second half.
