Lakes score 33 in first half, cruise to win

BARAGA — The visiting Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes came home with a win Thursday as they knocked off the Baraga Vikings, 76-36, on the road in a strong third quarter and quick transitions.

“Our first half was good for us,” said Baraga coach Chris Loonsfoot. “Our defense was pretty excellent in the first half. Lake Linden scored most of their points off of our turnovers and transitions but in the half court they didn’t score much.”

William Jondreau lead the Vikings with 11 points throughout the game, including six inside shots in the second quarter.

“I’d say William Jondreau,” said Loonsfoot, when asked who he felt stood out. “I started him at center. He’s undersized for a center, but he plays strong and he really hit the boards and left it all out there for us tonight.”

William Lyons lead the Lakes with 19 points, most of which came during the third quarter. Carter Crouch brought in 18 points, Caleb Gregoire added 11.
