TAPIOLA — Chassell and Houghton won games in Over 50 Softball League action Thursday.

Chassell scored early and often in a 20-8 win over Tapiola as Jim LaChance whacked out five hits and Jerry Fish, Daryl Putala, Mick Kryndlowski and Nick Sedar all had four safeties.

Nick Lindemann, Steve Giddings and Pat Duguay added three raps for Chassell.

Mark Leaf paced Tapiola with three hits, while Andy Heikkinen and Scott Hall picked up two raps apiece.

Mitch Lake was the winning pitcher, Len Juntunen took the loss.

In the other game, Houghton erased a 7-5 deficit in the sixth inning and recorded a 13-8 win over South Range.

Dave Usitalo picked up three hits for the victors, while Tom Legault, Bill Laurin, Steve Dunstan and Bill Eikenberry had two raps apiece.

Brien Ricci, Dick Franti, Mike Harkonen and Jim Puotinen had two more hits.

Dunstan was the winning pitcher.
