DP Construction 16, Rajala’s Kitchens 6

SOUTH RANGE — In Portage Lake Little League Minors action Monday, DP Construction earned a 16-6 win over Rajala’s Kitchens at Veterans Field in South Range.

Casey Hiller was strong on the mound, with six strikeouts over four innings to earn the win. Hiller had three hits and scored four runs. Chase Keranen closed game with six strikeouts and two runs scored.

Keedin Roberts scored twice for DP and made key plays at second base for outs. Mason Soli was solid behind home plate and scored two with an RBI. Jake Mattson played tough at first base with two hits and one run scored.

Cale “Cake” Repp played strong at short with a great grab for a key out and two hits to get on base.

Also scoring for Rajalas Kitchen were Brycen Nettell, who hit a two run homer. Rylan Guilbault had two great hits with one run scored. Drew Larson and Max Nordstrom also scored one run each

Houghton Rotary 11, South Range VFW 11

STANTON — Houghton Rotary and South Range VFW played to a 11-11 tie Monday night at the E.B. Holman Field.

Jax Pierner was 3-for-3 with a triple and a inside-the-park home run to lead Houghton Rotary.

On the mound, Pierner, Luciano Paoli, Channing Krahling, and Tevin Stukel had a combined nine strikeouts for Houghton.

Porter Markham went 2-for-3 at the plate with a single and a inside-the-park home run to lead VFW.

Jamie Larson, Brexton Kinnunen, Noah Randell, and Markham had a combined seven strikeouts on the mound for VFW.
