HANCOCK — Finlandia freshman Braedyn Hurd has been named the American Collegiate Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Week for women’s soccer.

This is the first time Hurd has won the award.

Hurd had a strong performance against Maranatha Baptist on Sept. 28. She collected 11 digs and had three total blocks.

Finlandia hosts Buene Vista at 8 p.m. Friday in the SISU Classic. The Lions also host Grace Christian at 9 a.m. Saturday followed by a 3 p.m. match against Mount Mary.
