Prep Hockey: Jets get 4-2 road win vs. Chiefs

CHEBOYGAN — With two goals in the first period and two more over the course of the game, the Jeffers Jets hockey team earned a road victory over the Cheboygan Chiefs, 4-2, Thursday night.

The Jets scored just 2:16 into the contest when Brent Heinonen found the back of the net unassisted.

The Chiefs evened the game at 10:14, but assistant captain Jackson Rocchi regained the lead for the Jets less than two minutes later.

The game remained 2-1 in favor of the Jets until captain Matthew Halonen scored an unassisted goal 3:07 into the second. Halonen added a second tally with 11.9 seconds left in the contest to seal the win.

The Chiefs scored their second goal of the night late in the third, but could not get the equalizer before Halonen’s second tally.

Noah Nettell made 16 saves to earn the win.
