Huskies ranked No. 19 this week

HOUGHTON — After a loss and tie to No. 15 Bowling Green last weekend, the Michigan Tech hockey team slipped to No. 19 in the latest NCAA Division I hockey poll.

Michigan Tech (13-10-2, 8-7-1 WCHA) tied the Falcons 2-2 Saturday after losing 3-2 on Friday.

The Huskies were ranked No. 17, their first national ranking since 2018. Bowling Green was ranked No. 16 last week.

Michigan Tech visits Bemidji State this week. Puck drop is 8:07 p.m. Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday. The Huskies’ next home series is Ferris State on Jan. 24-25.

WCHA players of the week announced

Northern Michigan sophomore Vincent de Mey was named the WCHA Forward of the Week, the league announced Monday. Bemidji State’s Tommy Muck was named Defenseman of the Week. Wildcats goalie Nolan Kent was named Goaltender of the Week. Minnesota State’s Lucas Sowder was named Rooke of the Week.
