HOUGHTON — Head coach Michelle Jacob and the Michigan Tech soccer program are pleased to announce the schedule for the 2020 season. Home games that dot the schedule for the Huskies in 2020, including a four-game stretch in October and the regular season finale against Northern Michigan on Nov. 6.

September 3 will mark the season-opener for Michigan Tech as they host Minnesota-Duluth, followed by a home contest against St. Cloud State on Sept. 5. Tech faced both teams on the road in 2019, with the Huskies drawing 0-0 against St. Cloud State and winning 3-2 over Minnesota-Duluth in double overtime.

Michigan Tech will face a quick turnaround as they head to Minnesota for a neutral-site game against Minnesota State-Moorhead on Sept. 11 and a Sept. 13 contest against Bemidji State. Following a bye week, the Huskies will hit the road for four consecutive games, beginning with matches at Ferris State Sept. 25 and Northwood Sept. 27. The Huskies continue the road trip into October with games at Ashland on the second and Saginaw Valley State on the fourth.

The Huskies will return to Kearly Stadium for four consecutive GLIAC games, beginning on Oct. 9 and 11 against Wisconsin-Parkside and Purdue Northwest, respectively. The Huskies went 3-1 against these teams last season, winning 6-0 and 1-0 decisions against Purdue Northwest. Tech logged a 1-0 win and suffered a 2-1 setback against Parkside a year ago. Michigan Tech will then welcome Northwood on October 16th and Ferris State on Oct. 18.

Following the homestand, the Huskies will travel for their next three GLIAC contests, beginning on Oct. 25 against Northern Michigan in the final non-conference game of the regular season. Tech will then head downstate to take on Davenport on Oct. 30 and Grand Valley State on Nov. 1.

Michigan Tech will conclude the regular season at home for the fourth time in five seasons on Nov. 6 when they host Northern Michigan. If the Huskies finish as one of the top eight teams in the GLIAC standings at the end of the year, they will qualify for the 2020 GLIAC Tournament. The GLIAC Tournament will begin on Nov. 10 with the Quarterfinal at the site of the higher-seeded team, followed by the Semifinal on November 13 from the site of the highest-seeded team remaining in the Tournament. The Championship game will be held on Nov. 15.

2020 will mark the 11th season in the history of Michigan Tech women’s soccer, with the Huskies reaching the postseason in seven of the last eight seasons.
