Nettells combine to help SNB-Stanton to victory

STANTON — SNB-Stanton put together a six-run fifth in cruising to a 12-5 win against Garnet Garage-Subway in Twilight Baseball League action Tuesday night.

SNB-Stanton (4-1) batted around in the fifth with four hits, hit batsman, error and a walk in scoring the runs. Carter Nettell had a two RBI-double in the fifth. Kevin Bostwick had a two RBI-single. Erik Nettell had an RBI single. Daron Durocher had a sacrifice fly RBI.

Garnet Garage-Subway (2-3) scored a single run across five innings and unable to mount any more pressure in an inning.

Garnet Garage-Subway threatened throughout the game, but stranded eight runners on base including five in scoring position.

Trent Keteri pitched a complete game for SNB-Stanton, giving up the five runs on four hits with six walks and four strikeouts.

Keteri escaped jams throughout the game before laboring more in the seventh as he started Garnet Garage-Subway off in the seventh inning with two walks. Keteri got a flyout, hit a batter, then got two more flyouts to end the game.

Dean Jurmu pitched for Garnet Garage-Subway, throwing six innings before Mike Saari relieved the seventh.

Jurmu gave up the 12 runs on 10 hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Dax Durocher had a single for SNB-Stanton. Daron Durocher and Josh Koskela had hits for Stanton. Bostwick ended the day with three hits including a double and two singles. Cole Jepsen had a two RBI-single in the sixth inning.

Justin Norkol tripled for Garnet Garage-Subway in the third inning. He also had a single in the fifth. Austin Kievanen had an RBI single in the sixth. Saari doubled in the first inning.

SNB-Stanton plays at Dean Kangas-State Farm at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Driving Park, while Garnet Garage-Subway hosts REL Inc.-Mohawk Technologies at 6:30 p.m. at Stanton Field.

Dean Kangas-State Farm 4, REL Inc.-Mohawk Technologies 1

HANCOCK — Dean Kangas-State Farm topped REL Inc.-Mohawk Technologies 4-1 in the other Twilight Baseball League game on Tuesday.

State Farm (2-3) scored twice in the fourth and added a run apiece in the sixth and seventh.

Dave Wesa had three singles for State Farm. Brian Juopperi singled. Jason Koski doubled and singled. Brady Turner singled twice. Travis Wesa doubled.
