Crush closes regular season with 11-3 victory
CHASSELL — In the final game of the regular season for both teams, Crush-Diamond House International-Baby E’s BBQ earned an 11-3 victory over Superior Service in Chassell.
Superior struck first as their lead-off batter, Josie Connors, rocked out a double. She later scored on another double, this time from Raili Therrian. That was all Superior in the inning, however, and the lead was short-lived.
In the bottom of the first, Crush saw seven of their first eight batters reach base, and all of them scored, turning a 1-0 deficit into a 7-1 advantage before the final out was recorded.
From there, both teams settled down.
Crush picked up three more runs in the bottom of the third and added another in the fourth to get to 11. Superior added single runs in the second and fifth, but the deficit was too much to overcome.
Sarah Audette was the winning pitcher for Crush while Connors took the loss for Superior. Audette struck out six and walked three while Connors struck out two and walked two.
Audette helped her cause at the plate with two doubles. Emily Jokela added two singles as well.
Connors and Therrian each had two doubles for Superior.
