The Verna Mize Triathlon will be held Saturday, Aug. 7 at Kestner Waterfront Park.

The event will consist of two divisions, including adult and youth (shorter distances).

Registration fee is $5 per individual, cash only. Registration forms available at cityofhoughton.com. Pre-registration must be done by phone, text or email before Thursday, Aug. 5.

Event check-in is 7:40 a.m. for adults and 9 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. for youth at the east end of the park.

Beginning at 8 a.m., the 18 and over division event will be composed of a half-mile swim, 8 mile bike and 5 mile run.

At 10 a.m., the 17 and under division event will be composed of a quarter-mile swim, 4 mile bike and 3 mile run.

Awards will be held at noon.
