Crouch, Sutherland named LL-H Outstanding Athletes

LAKE LINDEN — Lake Linden-Hubbell seniors Camaryn Crouch and Marcus Sutherland were named recipients of this year’s female and male LL-H Outstanding Senior Athlete awards.

Crouch earned nine varsity letters in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She was a three-time All-Copper Mountain Conference selection in volleyball from 2019-21. She was an All-State selection and MHSAA UP Finals champion in the 400 relay and pole vault. She helped the Lakes win their third straight UP track and field title in 2019. She’s the Copper Mountain Conference record-holder in pole vault at 9 feet, 6 inches.

Crouch, daughter of Beth and Andy Crouch, is a National Honor Society member with a 3.8 grade-point average. She plans to attend Michigan Tech as a psychology major.

Sutherland earned 12 varsity letters in football, basketball, baseball, golf and track and field. In football, he earned All-Conference honors as a defensive end and receiver in 2021. In basketball, he was a 2021 and 2022 all-conference selection and All-UP Second Team last season. Sutherland is playing in both the UP All-Star Football game, and the UP Sports Hall of Fame basketball game this summer.

Sutherland, son of Danielle and Leon Sutherland, is also a National Honor Society member, boasting a 3.97 GPA. He also plans to attend Michigan Tech, majoring in either mechanical engineering or civil engineering.
