May 31

Superior National Bank beat J. Peltier Construction 8-4. J. Peltier Construction pitcher Chase Keranen struck out 13 batters. SNB found timely hitting from Redik Randell, Blake Heltunen, Kirk larson, Ensio Anderson, Liam Kinnunen and Jonathan Schuett to generate offense. Chase Keranen, Calvin Rinkinen, Isaac Wanhala, Tyler Isaacson and Terrence Nolan had hits for J. Peltier Construction.

Superior Graphics defeated Copper Country Chiropractic 7-6. Hayden Matteson was 3 for 3 with two RBI for Superior Graphics. Levi Matteson was 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Tristan Wolfe was 2 for 2 with three runs scored. Max Bien was 2 for 3 for CCC with two runs scored, while Garek Guilbault was 3 for 3.

KBear beat Mohawk Tech 20-2. Niiko Johnson and Joe Halonen pitched two innings each and struck out six batters. David Eskola and Orrin Johnson scored Mohawk Tech’s runs. Liam Debeubien was 4 for 4 with an RBI, four runs and four stolen bases. Halonen scored three times and had three stolen bases. Johnson was 4 for 4 with a triple, three RBI and three runs scored. Wyndham David scored three times and stole three bases with an RBI. Cullen Berg drove in three runs and scored twice.

May 27

J. Peltier Construction defeated Tervo Agency 19-2. Calvin Rinkinen, Terrence Nolan and Tyler Isaacson took the win on the mound with a combined 15 strikeouts. Isaac Wanhala had five hits including a home run. Chase Keranen, Rinkinen, Nolan and Colin Spencer each reached base four times. Tervo Agency’s Joey Niedzwiecki led the team with three hits, and Markus Miller reached base three times. Stanley Kangas and Jarren Moilanen both doubled.

May 24

Rajala’s Kitchen beat Tervo Agency 11-4. Connor Helminen had four hits and took the win on the mound. He struck out 12 in 4 1/3 innings. Victor Heinonen and Blake Helminen both had three hits. Chad Halonen had two hits. Tash Helminen struck out five in 1 2/3 innings of relief. Fynn Pennala had two hits for Tervo Agency.

J. Peltier Construction defeated Superior Graphics 12-6 in extra innings. Isaac Wanhala and Chase Keranen combined for 16 strikeouts in the win. Wanhala and Tyler Isaacson led the team with three hits apiece. Keranen and Terrence Nolan had two hits. Everettt Matteson led Superior Graphics with four hits, while Levi Matteson added a home run.

KBear 102 beat Copper Range Roofing & Contracting 27-1. Toby Johnson pitched two innings and struck out six for KBear. Niiko Johnson struck out four in the other two innings, and reached base five times, including a double and a triple. Johnson was 3 for 4 with two RBI. Joe Halonen was 3 for 3 with a triple and three RBI. Max Harju reached base three times and scored twice. Ethan Halonen was 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI. Carson Stevens scored Copper Range Roofing & Contracting’s lone run. Noah Johnson reached base twice.

May 23

Thrivent Financial beat Houghton Rotary 4-1 in minors softball.

May 21

J. Peltier Construction defeated Tervo Agency 5-1. Tyler Isaacson, Isaac Wanhala and Chase Keranen combined for the win on the mound, striking out 14 and allowing just four baserunners. Keranen and Terrence Nolan had two hits apiece. Seven players had hits for J. Peltier Construction.

Fynn Pennala and Marcus Miller each had two hits for Tervo Agency.

May 20

Copper Country Chiropractic beat Tervo Agency 8-7. Max Bier pitched four innings and struck out 11 for CCC, walking three and giving up just one hit. Garek Guilbault struck out seven. Tyler Jaehnig batted 3 for 4 with two RBI and a home run. Carter Heikkinen singled to score Owen Cogswell in the seventh inning. Fynn Pennala struck out 11 batters for Tervo Agency, giving up no runs.

May 18

Superior National Bank beat M&M Powersports 8-5. Blake Heltunen struck out 10 batters in 5 1/3 innings of work for SNB. Kirk Larson closed out the game striking out four in 1 2/3 innings.

Jake Mattson, Nate Thompson and Bently Kinnunen pitched for M&M Powersports and had a combined 14 strikeouts.
