With archery season starting in a few days, it’s a great time to brush up on how to stay safe when hunting from a tree. Ontonagon man killed in crash; driver injured

ONTONAGON — A single-vehicle crash Wednesday in Ontonagon left one man dead and another person seriously injured. The crash occurred at 11:30 p.m. on Norwich Road, 1,240 feet south of Domitrovich Road. A vehicle driven by a 36-year-old Ontonagon resident left the roadway while traveling north on Norwich Road. It traveled nearly 400 feet through a ditch before hitting a tree and coming to rest facing the opposite direction. Body of missing man found

ONTONAGON — A missing Ontonagon Township man was found dead Saturday morning, three days after he had last been seen.  Joseph Bittner’s body was found about 11:30 a.m. Saturday by a member of a volunteer search party, the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post said in a release.
