What is the message here?

To the editor: I have noticed that many individuals do not wear masks while in local stores, assuming they put them on to enter, or don’t even put them on when entering. I also notice that the store’s employees are not designated as “Mask Mounties” to enforce the statewide requirement and refuse these individuals entry. I wonder if these same individuals accompanied with school age children without masks require their children to wear seat belts when they are in their vehicles? If they require their children to wear seat belts but don’t have them wear masks in enclosed ...

Respect for our neighbors

To the editor: News of rising numbers of COVID-19 cases here in the Copper Country and elsewhere in the United States makes our family very concerned. Over the past several months we have learned we must follow protocols of wearing face masks when out in public, washing our hands frequently, and keeping proper social distance when others are present. Why? Simply because the evidence of people dying from this virus makes us take the precautions prescribed. Need to unite

To the editor: It seems finally that the era of the worst U.S. president in modern history has come to an end. This was a test run bent on undermining and invalidating the very democratic principles that we hold dear for the sake of corporate power and the accumulation of wealth in the hands of the few. To the editor: Did you ever have a teacher who punished the whole class because of the misbehavior of one or two students?  It always seemed an unfair system, but it was quite effective, especially when I was one of the miscreants.  Not wanting to incur the wrath of my classmates, I conformed, and we all benefitted.
