To the editor: Seemingly, Trump is trying to stay in office by using an obscure and never-used piece in Art. 2 which he alone thinks reads, “The sour grapes and sore losers clause”. What a buffoon. People in the know realize his true intentions. While he refuses the peaceful and inevitable transfer of power to Joe Biden, the country’s health and security swing in the wind. Why would he start caring now, right? Hats off to Calumet, Chassell

To the editor: On behalf of the U.P. Regional Blood Center, I would like to thank, Calumet Colosseum and the Chassell Township Fire Hall, for hosting a blood drive in the month of November. As a result of their efforts, we collected 26 pints of blood. I would also like to thank all the community members that took the time to come to the blood drive to donate blood and “give the gift of life.” Because of your generosity, we received enough blood to potentially save 78 lives across the Upper Peninsula. Houghton waterfront

To the editor: I don’t think people are happy with the decision to go with Veridea. The Houghton City Council says people had a chance to be involved. It appears that many don’t feel this to be true. How about humoring everyone, slow down and back up. There is no reason that the council has to carry on in this direction. A number of people on the city council were replaced, apparently the people of Houghton were not pleased with some of the activities of the council. Wolves should not be trapped

To the editor: I urge your readers to contact the Michigan Natural Resources Council and our state legislators and ask them to oppose the opening of any wolf hunting or trapping seasons in Michigan. Unfortunately, the Trump Administration recently removed Endangered Species Act protections for wolves in Michigan and surrounding areas in the western Great Lakes even though wolf numbers and habitat have not recovered to historical standards. To the editor: Many people took this Republican cultish takeover of the government way too seriously, gathering in large crowds during and after the election, while not respecting the spread of the virus and not following simple scientific guidelines. Government regulations

To the editor: The government is interfering with my life. I had to make my morning coffee with clean tap water imposed by government water standards. I then had to use pasteurized milk on my cereal because of stupid government regulations. Back on the farm in Atlantic Mine we used fresh milk from the cows with no problems; it was also needed for viili (a Finnish yogurt). I took my medications that were finally approved last week, but it took too long because of government meddling in the safety of new drugs. I decided to make a ham sandwich to bring to work for lunch. I’ve been ...
