Canal View – Houghton County makes commitment toward a safe reopening

HANCOCK — In a press release Thursday, Canal View – Houghton County announced its commitment to a safe reopening for those planning to visit loved ones.

“While there have been many news’ stories reporting that nursing homes are open for visitation, we would like to take this opportunity to share the requirements outlined by MDHHS that all nursing homes have been instructed to follow,” the release stated.

Canal View asks that all visits be pre-scheduled and supervised. Visitors will be screened prior to admittance and receive a COVID test prior to entry and adhere to PPE requirements.

There will be specific areas of the building where meetings can take place.

“Visitations are only permitted in resident rooms in certain instances, and will mostly be in a designated area and time limited,” the release stated. “The number of visitors per scheduled visit is limited to two persons or few at any given time.”

Those looking to schedule a visit should Canal View at 483-2163.

“We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to get everyone in while also adhering to the requirements set forth by MDHHS,” the release stated.
