Soup’s on!
ATLANTIC MINE — Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Atlantic Mine will be hosting their Soup’s On free meals on the second Wednesday of each month starting April 13. The meals can be picked up between 4 and 6 p.m.
The meal contains soup, bread, fruit and a dessert.

Local grief support available
UP Health System Home Care & Hospice offers a virtual, call-in grief support group. It is open to the community. The U.P. Regional Blood Center is now experiencing a critical need for all blood types.
The UP Regional Blood Center has collection sites in Marquette, Hancock and Escanaba and is the primary supplier of blood to 13 U.P. Hospitals.

Community garage hosted by schools
Stanton Township Schools will be hosting a community garage sale on June 4th at E.B. Holman School from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. as a fundraiser for the school. Spots are available for $10 each.

ATV club to meet
The next monthly meeting of the Keweenaw ATV Club will be held on June 6,2022 at the Hubbell VFW. on M-26 in Hubbell. at 7:00 p.m. We will discuss our adopt a trail program and trail maintenance. New projects and old. All new members welcome.
MARSP session set
The last spring meeting of the Houghton Keweenaw Chapter of MARSP (Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel) is scheduled for Monday June 6 2022 at the Bonfire Restaurant in Houghton.
The local business meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by buffet lunch and speaker. The speaker will Cathy Kass-Aten, the Executive Director of Little Brothers Friends of the Elderly. All members and their guests are encouraged to attend.
Bridgefest 2022 seeks parade entries
Houghton — Bridgefest 2022 is June 16-19th, in Houghton and Hancock. This year’s celebration includes the Bridgefest parade on Friday, June 19 at 7:05 p.m. The route begins in Hancock and proceeds over the Portage Lake Lift Bridge.
It continues through downtown Houghton ending just past the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce office. This year’s parade theme is the Portage Lake Lift Bridge.
Find parade registration forms and detailed information online at www.bridgefestfun.com. Entry registration is now open. All entries will be assigned a slot for the parade lineup in June. The $35 registration fee must be paid prior to the parade.
Payment information is available on the registration form. Line-up instructions will be emailed to the registered contact person(s) for each entry during the week leading up to the parade.

Chicken barbeque in offing
Quincy-Franklin -Hancock Township Fire Department will hold its 34th Annual Chicken BBQ at the Quincy-Franklin Fire Hall located at 20457 Sunshine Road.
The event is set for Sunday, June 12, noon to 5 p.m. Eat in or take out.
Tickets are $15 and include a half chicken, coleslaw, beans and a roll.

Proceeds go to the fire department.

Pancake breakfast on tap
Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly will be holding a pancake breakfast/40th Anniversary Open House on Saturday June 4th from 7 a.m. to noon, in the dining hall of our Hancock office located at 527 Hancock St.
Proceeds from the pancake breakfast support our Medical Transportation Program. Learn more about that and our other core programs and volunteer opportunities over a plate of pancakes and sausages!
Breakfast tickets cost $5.00 each and are available at the door. Limited indoor seating, outdoor seating and take-out available.

Keweenaw Clubs Swap Meet Saturday, July 9 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday, July 10 9 a.m.-noon.

The regular monthly meeting of the Western U.P. Board of Health will be held at 6 p.m. (EST) on Monday, June 6, 2022, at the Western U.P. Health Department, 408 Copper St., Ontonagon.

Big sale coming up
Rummage and bake sale will include a basement full of great finds. The Albert Paine United Methodist Church Painesdale is the location. It’s located on the corner or Iroquois and Hulbert streets overlooking Jeffers High School
Friday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Funds raised at this event will be used toward community outreach programs as well as our ongoing renovation needs.
