Keweenaw Lions Club New Members
The Keweenaw Lions Club held their monthly meeting at the Mariner North in Copper Harbor on Monday, Oct. 7. Guest speaker, Erika Vye, made an enthusiastic presentation on geotourism in the Keweenaw, explaining the interrelation and value of our heritage, geology and natural features.
Syd Faassen was inducted as a new member to the Keweenaw Lions Club, joining Rick Church and Don Kilpela, inducted earlier this year.
November’s meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 4 at Slim’s in Mohawk. 6:30 p.m. dinner followed by 7 p.m. meeting and guest speaker. November’s meeting will feature Keweenaw Sheriff, Bill Luokkanen, speaking on ‘No Kid Without a Christmas’.
Lions Club is the world’s largest service club organization, helping the local community. New members are always welcomed.
