Woman jailed after 3-vehicle accident in Hancock

Hancock Police Dept. Press release At approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday, the Hancock Police Department was dispatched to a rollover accident on the 500 block of Quincy Street. A vehicle driven by a 30-year-old female from Hancock was traveling west on Quincy when she left the traffic lane and struck an unoccupied pickup truck parked on the south side of the street, causing her vehicle to roll over and land on its roof. Community drive for Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Dial Help is partnering with Houghton/Keweenaw Communities That Care to host a community drive. The goal of the drive is to collect supplies to support local youth and families. Northern Michigan University will serve as a host site for a free criminal conviction expungement eligibility clinic offered through the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. The event is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, May 19, in 1318 Jamrich Hall.
