Minnesota State pauses hockey activities after positive COVID-19 test

Minnesota State announced a pause in hockey activities Tuesday after positive COVID-19 test results within the program.

It’s the second WCHA program to cancel games this weekend after Northern Michigan announced a positive test result within its program on Monday.

Minnesota State didn’t announce if there was more than one positive results or identify the positive result.

The Mavericks’ non-conference series against Bemidji State for this weekend was postponed without a make-up date.

Tech is scheduled to host Minnesota State on Dec. 4-5. No announcement was made about that series. The Huskies are off this weekend after a positive virus test in the Northern Michigan hockey program.

Under WCHA protocols, teams have three COVID-19 tests per week.
