Emily Jokela named 2025 Outstanding Female Athlete at Lake Linden-Hubbell

LAKE LINDEN — Widely considered the most decorated athlete to ever attend the school, Emily Jokela’s achievements span across basketball, track, and softball — earning her Conference MVP honors in all three sports, a feat unmatched in school and likely Copper Mountain Conference history.
She earned all conference honors in every sport and every season in her high school career.
Among her many accolades: in basketball, she was the all-time leading scorer in school history with 2,010 points, two-time Conference MVP, and four-time Copper Mountain Conference Elite Team. She had multiple All-State selections, including two-time Associated Press First Team, two-time Basketball Coaches Association, two-time Detroit Free Press, and two-time Academic All State.
In track and field, she is all-time leading point scorer in school history with over 1,000 points and growing, holds school records and track records in six events: 100m, 100m Hurdles, 200m, 300m Hurdles, and 400m, and is a four-time All-State selection, and three-time Conference MVP.
In softball, she is a two-time Conference MVP, and has been named Pitcher of the Year.
Jokela’s legacy extends beyond athletics. A National Honor Society member, she has maintained a 3.79 GPA and is known for her unwavering work ethic, positivity, and team-first mindset. She will represent the Lakes basketball program in both the “Border Bash” game and the U.P. Hall of Fame All Star game this summer.
She plans to attend Grand Valley State University on a track and field scholarship and major in health science.
She is the daughter of John and Lori Jokela.
