BATES TOWNSHIP — An 18-year-old Kiel, Wis., woman was injured in a traffic crash at about 1:11 p.m. (CST) Friday on U.S. 2 near Bates-Amasa Road in Bates Township, according to Iron County Sheriff Ryan Boehmke. "The woman was the driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Trax that rear-ended a truck that was towing a lowboy trailer," Boehmke said in a news release. She was taken to Aspirus Hospital in Iron River and then transferred to Aspirus Wausau for further treatment, he said. The driver of the truck, a 26-year-old Iron River man, was not injured.
