MSU Extension offers free training of pantry food safety, why and how

Michigan State University Extension is a resource for food safety training. Food Safety Educators will be hosting a live online webinar focusing on Pantry Food Safety–It’s Your Job. This is a two-part series. Part One of the series will cover the following topics; why food safety in a food bank/pantry is important, handwashing, personal hygiene, cleaning and sanitizing, and receiving food product. Part Two will cover a continuation of receiving food product, storage of food product, re-packaging, and the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Law. This webinar is based on current food safety and Michigan Food Code as it relates to food banks/and food pantries. Participants are encouraged to ask their questions during the Q and A portion of the event. Food Safety Educators will be available for this session and will provide the most up-to-date research-based information.

Organizations that register participants will receive incentives upon submission of evaluation.
