New election order creates problems

To the editor: The national election legislation currently under debate not solve any problems while creating an important problem the system is currently robust to. Prior to the 2020 election in most states valid voters received absentee ballots by actively requesting an application. Absentee ballots would be provided after verification that the applicant was a registered voter in the particular district. To the editor: I commend all who choose to serve their communities as an elected official at a time when so many people have lost confidence in our institutions and use hateful language to make their opinions known. To the editor: The SECURE MI VOTE petition suggests Michigan’s voting process is not secure and to “fix it,” voting must be harder. Hand recounts, audits and the GOP report, led by Sen. Seriously, why?

To the editor: I’ve been trying to figure out why some people are so fervent in their continuing support for former President Donald Trump. I’m no great fan of either political party. My opinion is that both parties have become completely subservient to their corporate and Wall Street overlords. As of 2019, the top 10% of households in the US held 70% of the country’s wealth, while the bottom 50% held just 2%.
