Support for Rep. Bergman

To the editor: I want to thank Rep. Bergman for standing with the constituents of his district and signing on to the Amicus Brief. While conspiracy theories from both sides of the spectrum have been rampant since the 2016 election, this was not one of them. For those who are willing to read more than a headline, you would understand that this did not seek to overturn the election. Instead, it addressed the Michigan Secretary of State’s multiple overreaches on the constitution and election laws. We stand with Rep. Bergman and applaud him for his continued hard work for our district

To the editor: Throughout 2020 our daily lives and routines have undergone a massive change. Sacrifices have been made in our personal lives for sure. Almost as importantly, activities and events that typically allow us to escape from the cares and worries of our daily grind have also been a victim of the pandemic that has stopped most everything we enjoy from happening. To the Editor: First, I am writing to clarify the facts surrounding the issuance of fines to Café Rosetta in Calumet. To date, the food establishment has received two citations totaling $5,000, from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The Western Upper Peninsula Health Department (WUPHD) provides local inspection and licensure of food establishments under the Michigan Food Law, as delegated under contract with the State of Michigan, through Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD). Regrettable decision

To the editor: Mr. Bergman, The Electoral College made it official on the evening of Dec. 14. The election of Nov. 3 gave the win to Joseph R. Biden, president elect. When you approved of the Texas attorney general’s lawsuit several days ago, you committed a despicable act. As our representative in Congress, we expect you to face facts with clarity, not prejudice. Disloyalty

To the editor: Rep. Greg Markkanen’s endorsement of the Texas attorney general’s bogus suit filed with the Supreme Court to disenfranchise the results of Michigan voters is reprehensible and disloyal to his oath of office. Must he be reminded that he represents the voters of Michigan not Texas.
