Baseball: SNB-Stanton blanks Dean Kangas-State Farm

HANCOCK — Superior National Bank-Stanton’s bats came alive in a 10-0 win against Dean Kangas-State Farm in Copper Country Twilight Baseball League action Tuesday night at Driving Park.

SNB-Stanton (1-1) scored four times in the second and added five more runs in the third.

Carter Nettell had a double and single with three RBI. Daron Durocher had a groundout RBI. Tyler LaDuron had a sacrifice fly RBI. Dax Durocher and Kevin Bostwick and Trent Keteri each had an RBI single.

Tyler LaDuron pitched all four innings for SNB-Stanton. He gave up two hits with no walks and struck out six.

Brian Juopperi and Travis Wesa had Dean Kangas-State Farm’s lone hits. Owen Kariniemi reached on a fielder’s choice and no Dean Kangas-State Farm base runners made it past first base.

Owen Kariniemi and Dave Wesa pitched for Dean Kangas-State Farm (0-2). They combined to give up the 10 runs on six hits with four walks and six strikeouts.

SNB-Stanton hosts REL Inc.-Mohawk Technology at Stanton Field on Tuesday, July 7, while Dean Kangas-State Farm hosts Garnett Garage Subway at Driving Park.

STANTON — REL Inc.-Mohawk Technology took an early lead and padded it later for an 8-0 win against Garnett Garage Subway.

REL Inc.-MT (2-0) held a 2-0 lead before scoring twice in the fourth and adding three more runs in the fifth.

Garnett Garage Subway (1-1) was held to one hit, a first inning single by Brandon Norkol. GGS never got a base-runner to second base after the first inning.

Rory Anderson homered in the third inning for REL Inc.-MT. Bryce Turner had a single and double. Brent Loukus singled.
