MTU picked No. 3 in GLIAC poll
The Michigan Tech football team was selected to finish third in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Coaches’ Poll during media day Monday in Detroit.
The Huskies received 24 votes, behind defending Division II national champion and preseason No. 1 Ferris State, and Grand Valley State.
Saginaw Valley State (22), Northern Michigan (14), Wayne State (12) and Davenport (8) rounded out the GLIAC preseason coaches’ poll.
Michigan Tech finished last season 6-4 and 5-2 in the GLIAC, good for third place.
This year’s Huskies features a veteran roster including 20 seniors and nine juniors.
The Huskies begin the season hosting UW-Platteville at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1.
