We need to have courage

To the editor: Every Sunday since last summer, a COVID-19 laboratory experiment has been taking place at John MacArthur’s church in California, where approximately 7,000 christians, across all age groups, gather to play musical instruments, sing, and worship God. Masks and social distancing are not the norm. We have not seen  high numbers of illness, hospitalizations and deaths there. At one point there were three mild cases among the 7,000. Why? Is God protecting them? Are they just lucky? Six days a week in Calumet, another COVID-19 laboratory experiment is taking place at ...

Packers were real NFC champs

To the editor: The NFC Championship game held on Jan. 24, between the Green Bay Packers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was fraudulent and illegitimate, and American football fans should demand a full investigation into every single point scored. No, I didn’t actually watch the game, so I do not have any real evidence to support this argument, but a lot of people are saying that Green Bay Packers were treated very unfairly by the referees, umpires and field judges and that the Packers really won by a lot of points. I have been told that it was a landslide victory for Green Bay. Also, ...

Neighborly decency

To the editor: Who ever returned the blue wallet I left in the Walmart parking lot, thank you! According to customer service staff this is very common event. In fact just that day two blue wallets were returned. Also a young gentleman returned $50 he had found in the butter isle. In these tough times it is heartening to be reminded of the integrity of our community.

Bergman working well

To the editor: All Americans, no matter their lot in life, should have total confidence in the integrity of our voting system and the only way to have total confidence is through total accountability and transparency. I applaud Rep. Jack Bergman’s steadfast work to ensure our elections are above board and that our election laws are closely followed. Rep. Bergman is a true leader and will not back down from a fight. That is why we sent him back to Washington by an overwhelming majority (his largest win margin yet). I applaud Rep. Bergman’s continued effort to bring ...

Bergman not one of us

To the editor: Congressman Jack Bergman has let the people of the 1st District down and the people of the United States. Jack Bergman has proven what I’ve said for years; he’s an empty suit without the ability to stand up for himself and the country during times of unnecessary turmoil. Bergman has proven he is a lackey for the President, and his lackluster performance defending the Constitution of the United States is nothing short of treasonous. The Constitution has been trampled on for the past four years; it’s time to take a stand and hold Jack Bergman accountable. It is ...

Bergman’s hypocrisy

To the editor: Little more needs to be said about the hypocrisy of the majority of the Republican party.  Still, it’s hard to resist when the hypocrisy is so blatant. Represenative Jack Bergman is one of the Congressional Republicans who chose to believe President Trump’s lies about the illegitimacy of the 2020 election and who voted to reject the electoral college votes for Biden, even after Republican supporters had trashed the capital.  He then voted against the impeachment proposal, justifying his vote with the following rationale:  “The electoral process in Congress ...
