To the editor: We would like to thank the Hancock Bulldogs Football team and coaches for spring clean up of the grounds at Grace Lutheran Church in South Range this year. To the editor: On behalf of the S.S. Peter and Paul Lutheran Early Learning Center director, staff and advisory committee,I would like to thank the Portage Hospital Auxiliary for the generous grant of $2,000 to our tuition scholarship fund. The Early Learning Center provides a Christ Centered environment where children have opportunities for structured and unstructured play, art, stories, music, outdoor exploration, and rest. Thank you PHA for this contribution enabling those parents needing assistance for scholarships.

Volunteer work

To the editor: Many thanks to Keweenaw Clean-Up volunteers and supporting businesses and organizations. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the first-annual KORC Keweenaw Clean-Up a success! The Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition (KORC) goal was to help the Michigan DNR by cleaning up the Keweenaw Tip roads and other State and public land that is popular for a wide variety of user groups. Over 40 people worked together to help remove over 1 ton - 2,000 pounds - of trash from areas around Copper Harbor including High Rock Bay, the Mandan Road, Schlatter Lake, the Medora ...
